12 Kits of Christmas - September with Kara

Here we are in month 9 of our 12 Kits of Christmas club and this month Kara of  KandRDesigns (Life is Sweet ) is our hostess.  Just look at the great ingredients Kara sent us this month:

The kit includes some beautiful patterned paper from MME, All is Bright collection.  I love those birds with the holiday hats.  When I saw them I knew I was definitely going to use them on my projects...and there were so many other great ingredients too.  Those cute banners, the Mat Stack #3 die, the pretty saddle stitch ribbon and there was another big surprise in our kits this month.  You will see that as my last project.

First up, a cute card using the Banner Builder dies.
I love red and kraft for holiday cards and the cute Wonderful Words Holiday die cut Kara sent us was the perfect backdrop for a holiday banner.

My second card also is kraft and red:
There's that bird I was telling you about.  I stamped a little pattern using Background Basics, Tin Type onto the bottom of the card and embossed the top with a cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder.  Once again, I used the Wonderful Words Holiday die cut for my sentiment and one teeny, tiny rhinestone to top off the little birds hat.

My final project was the surprise Kara sent us this month:  A Holiday Planner Notepad!
Isn't this going to be perfect to keep in my purse to jot down all the things I need to remember during the busy holiday season?
I even made a little pocket to store receipts or coupons...no more crumpled up receipts all over my purse!

This was such a fun month and I know I am going to make such good use of my notepad planner.  I would like to thank Kara for sending us such a great kit with so many possibilities.  Speaking of possibilities...make sure you check out the other projects made by my super talented friends using Kara's kit.  You will really enjoy how we all see the same kit differently!

Wow, Cathy. You made some great projects. Now, I feel bad--I took the easy way out because I ran out of time. I love your little notebook holder, and how you stamped the tintype on kraft for your second card.

Cathy, what amazing cards and that holiday planner, just too adorable. I love that you used both of the words and your extra added bling too...just so festive. Your embossed backgrounds really set off your cards, what a clever idea.

Love your note planner , even the inside is pretty! Both of your cards are beautiful and I love that you only used two colors .Beautiful stamping and embossing on the second card. Wonderful projects Cathy.
Because of you I spent more money…. I had to get the baby stamp from Serendipity that you made your gorgeous baby card with. :)

My favorite is the first one! I just love that wood grain frame and how the banners hang in front of it :) "holiday" surly shines through! The snowflake embossing on the second is so pretty, and I love the red stamped on the craft, beautiful :) Your planner turned out great! Half and half fits perfectly on there! I don't know why I didn't think of that!

Oh I am soo excited Cathy.....I have all those goodies left from the kit to CASE that first card! I LOVE LOVE this card and this color combo is just divine with that little amber and how everything is layered on that woodgrain frame! Eek! Your planner turned out so pretty and I like how you made your own pocket for receipts! The half and half dies are perfect for embellishing these notebooks!

Wow, love how you used the frame on your first card--fabulous! Great idea to use the embossed and stamped backgrounds with the Mat Stack bird. It looks fantastic with the 'Merry' sentiment. And your planner is awesome! The Half & Half die cut is perfect and I love the buttons!

Cathy, Are you sure we got the same kit? So many neat things about your project. Love the C&S frame on the first and that the banner is UNDER the big "holiday - really stands out and so original. The second with the embossing and so clever how you made all the red pop - the sentiment, the frame, ribbon and the stamped border. Oh and that red gem on the birdies hat too!!! And last, your planner with the rows of twine and buttons... and omg.. a pocket too??? Love them all!

Awesome projects this month, Cathy! I'm thinking I must make use of the cute felt banner now that I've seen some great ideas for CASEing. :) I especially love your second card with that cutie bird and the fabulous color combo. Your planner is darling, too!
