WM Sketch Challenge #97 and WM May Christmas Card Challenge
I have been on jury duty off and on for the past three weeks (a never-ending, boring civil case) and it feels like forever since I have been able to make a card. Yesterday on Mother's Day I was determined to get into my craft room and have some time to play. Since I had to make my little bit of card-making time count, I have a card for both Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #97 and Waltzingmouse May Christmas Card Challenge. This week's sketch is by Lynn Mercurio who also issued the May Christmas Card challenge to use chipboard on a holiday card. Here's the sketch that Lynn created for us to use:
Here's the card I made:
I made my own "chipboard-like" embellishment from a PTI Wonderful Words Holiday die. I cut the words four times and adhered them together using my xyron. It really does look like chipboard, nice and thick. I used Lost and Found patterned papers and a strip of corrugated cardstock, lots of teture on this card. The stamp set is Waltzingmouse stamps Candy Jar Christmas Fillers. The peppermint is colored with glitter pens and quite sparkly in real life. The little pinked sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Say It Loud Winter Holiday. Make sure you check out the details of the Waltzingmouse Christmas Card Challenge, you might just win a really great prize at the end of the year in addition to having a nice stack of holiday cards all ready to send...no last minute rush!

Sounds like a good Mother’s Day , if you got some crafting time. I love this candy jar and the cards you make with it, all so different. Great choice of papers, and the homemade chipboard looks like you bought it. Beautiful card!
I am always happy to get out of jury duty , but once I was on a murder trial with special circumstances (kidnaping). It was interesting but very scary .
What a fun Christmas card you made. I thought this sketch would be easy, but it ended up stumping me! I really love your candy jar--looks so yummy, and your chipboard holiday.
Yes, I totally love this card! I like the different patterns, the texture on the banner, and that great treat jar!
Fabby card - full of Christmas cheer!! Love the sweetie jar and the chipboard banner and holiday sentiment too!
Fabulous for both challenges!!
Love the mix of papers...
and that fabby chipboard word is perfect!
I'm so far behind for the Christmas challenges...but I am determined to catch up in a couple of weeks when my days have more hours! *giggle*
Oh delicious! I just love the big sentiment die cut! Such yummy patterned papers on this festive card, Cathy! Love that jar of peppermint sticks with the stripey paper in the background :)!

Wonderful letters and love the candy jar on this fun holiday card! thanks for playing with the WMS sketch this week!
Lovely Christmas card. I really like the traditional colours and texture with the word and corrugated panel.
Hope you've finished jury service by now.
Hi Cathy! I saw this one in the gallery! Love the classic colors and that jar of sweets. See... you've got some of that corrugated paper too - glad to see you use it! I'm like the mad hatter - I'm late I'm late... so smart to use this for the sketch and the XC challenge!
Cathy, what a fabulous card--for both challenges! Love your choice of patterned papers and the jar of peppermint sticks looks fantastic! Great idea to combine the die cut word with a little sentiment from Say It Loud-Winter Holiday!
