12 Kits of Christmas-July

It's Christmas in July here and I am back with some cards for the 12 Kits of Christmas.  This month our hostess was Christina and she sent us a kit full of so much patterned paper, stamped images and sentiments...I had a ton of options.  Here is a pic of the fabulous kit she sent us.

My first card uses the beautiful poinsettia images from Waltzingmouse Big Bloom Poinsettia.

I just cut them out and added some gold glass beads to the centers.  I distressed the edges and stitched around them a bit, added one of Christinas nice sentiment strips and the card was done!
My second card is very CAS.
I used one of Christinas die cuts from Very Vintage Labels #18, also from Waltzingmouse and another poinsettia, this time I colored it with copics.  I used a cuttlebug embossing folder on the green layer and punched a snowflake border to layer of the red strip.
My third card is my favorite.
I used a pretty branch image added the little red bird diecut that Christina sent us.  I added one of her sentiment labels and a few pearls for a tiny bit of bling.  Love that little red bird.
We had one last assignment this month and that is to CASE a card using some of the leftovers from our previous 5 kits.
I chose to CASE a card from last month made by my good friend Jeanne.
I am always amazed with the beautiful layering and little touches Jeanne adds to her cards and I shamelessly copied it almost exactly.
Here is Jeanne's card:

Here is mine:

Not many differences,  although I didn't have the exact pieces of patterned paper that she used, I came pretty close and loved making her very
"inspirational" card.
Now that you have seen my cards, make sure you follow along the list and check out what the other members of our 12 Kits of Christmas group have made.

What a great set of cards you made. Those flower centers are absolutely perfect--they look so realistic. And, I love how you used that gorgeous branch image. I was stumped by that one--I see an August CASE coming on....

Such beautiful cards Cathy! I love your shabby look with the frayed edges and messy stitching on your first card. The gold beaded centers are just gorgeous! Then I adore your branch and bird card and I didn't use these images so SCORE for me.....a CASE!

Cathy, each card has so much detail! I think my favorite is the poinsettia card. I love the uneven stitching around the card, and the roughed up edges. The patterned papers you chose are the perfect ones to really let the flowers shine. I really like the snowflake die you used on the second card, too! You did a great job with the case :) I agree with you that it was hard to find just the right papers...I didn't really have that many left!

Incredible job this month, as always, Cathy! They are *all* my favorites! I love the distressed edges on the first one and your fabulous stitching. The second one is so crisp and striking with the fabulous embossing and punched snowflake border. Your coloring looks fantastic, too! I adore your card with the little red bird in the branch. It looks great with the gingham paper and sweet scalloped border. Beautiful CASE of Jeanne's card, as well. I love the wide satin ribbon on yours! Thanks so much for the wonderful inspiration this month, Cathy!

They're all fabulous...
but I love that first one!!
The stitching just makes that card...
and darnit!!
If I don't have little fingers that have managed to mess up my sewing machine...
he won't leave it alone and now it won't sew!
And...
why do I not remember I have something until I see someone else using it...
the gold beads!!
I thought I was doing good remembering the gold stickles...
the bead are so perfect and I have a bottle!!
Fabulous job with all the cards! :)

First I have to say I love the cased card of Jeanne's ...your added cream or white bow is a wonderful touch! Your poinsettia with the gold glass beads sure makes a beautiful center. Your embossed card with the punched snowflake is very pretty as well. I love your last card with the pretty scalloped edge at the top and red bird . Very pretty.

Cathy, I love how you did your stitching around your poinsettia card, I could not think of a way to use those flowers and love what you did with them and look forward to my CASE for next month. I love how you used that branch piece along with the green gingham, so beautiful...that one is my favorite but really they are all so amazing Cathy, just beautiful!

You did so many cool new things this time Cathy - The stitching and the distressing on the first one - AMAZING - I would love to try that! Maybe a case card here - you will teach me to sew yet! And the little beads in the center .... love that close up shot!! All that embossing on the second one - and my fave one the birdie on the branch. I love the scallop trim with the hint of the musical notes peeking up over the bird and the stripes of gingham - so much your style - just clean and perfect! SO flattered that you CASED me - I like yours better! That big fat bow, the flower with the button... gorgeous! (as always!)

Oh my, what can I say--I LOVE them all! Beautiful job this month, Cathy--but they always are! The stitching & distressing looks fantastic! Wish I would get up my nerve and dig out the old sewing machine! The embossing on the second card looks so pretty and how clever to add the punched snowflakes as a border. Of course, I adore the bird card! The gingham, the scallops, the gems and that wee bit of music pattern--all so perfect! And your CASE card is just amazing! Beautiful job on that one too--LOVE the gorgeous bow!

Hi Cathy!!!

They are just so beautiful...I LOVE your poinsettia card. They are cut perfectly and the gold beads in the center are perfect, along with the awesome rustic stitching. And the second card - I love the texture of the red on red snowflakes border with the stunning embossed background. And the bird/branch card - a CASE for me for sure because I had no idea what to do with those and yours is so lovely!
