WMSC#82 Hot Pink Plaid
There are some colors that are so cheerful, just seeing them makes you smile. The colors I used today for WMSC#82 are a combination that always makes me smile, orange zest, raspberry fizz and hibiscus burst. So bright and cheery, perfect for a Happy Birthday themed card. The sketch today is by Anya Schrier and is just perfect for stamping your own patterned paper. Here's the sketch:
Anytime I want to stamp a large area of cardstock, I bring out my WM plaid stamps. This time I used both Pic-nic Patterns and Off Beat Background plaid stamps. It is so much fun creating a custom plaid pattern in the exact color combination you want. They roll out so smoothly and I love the result. After I stamped the plaid, I diecut a top border using raspberry fizz cardstock and Spellbinder edgeability dies to give it the nice edge and decorative insert. I stamped a screen print over the layer with a cover a card stamp by Impression Obsession. I added some ribbon and tied a double bow topped off with a decorative Webster's Pages button. The sentiment and birthday cake are from WM Eat Cake. Doesn't that creamy AMuse Latte ink look like the perfect frosting? The leaves on the cake are from WM Teeny Trees dotted with colored rhinestones. I can always use birthday cards, so this one is all set to go for the next time I need a pretty pink card. Thanks for taking a look.

Oh Cathy, this color combo makes me smile, too :) And I love that plaid background! Also, that heart scallop border is really neat.
Beautiful colour combo, nice and fresh, and I love that cake!
What a very 'happy' birthday card! So pretty! I love the fun colors and that ribbon! I just want to touch that ribbon! :)
This card is perfect in every way. And, now you have added Pic Nic patterns to my growing WM wish list. I love these colors and this layout for a birthday card, and have already pinned it to CASE next time I need a birthday card. That candle at the top, and the decorations you put on the cake are the perfect finishing touches. And, I love the plaid pattern you made. It's better than patterned paper.
Great background! I'm definitely going to have to check out those background stamps. Your card is beautiful!
Very pretty , love the detail you gave the boarder. I love stamping backgrounds so mixing them up would even be more fun ,if I could get them to look this good. Love the way you did the cake too, this is just gorgeous!!!
