Waltzingmouse Stamps February Blog Party- Spring

Its the 17th of the month, Waltzingmouse Stamps monthly blog party and the theme this month is Spring.  Living in Southern California, we don't have a true Winter season, but that doesn't stop me from thinking about all things Spring-related.  Pastel colors, flowers, butterflies and Easter.  Especially Easter.  Some of my happiest memories are of my now grown children hunting for candy-filled plastic eggs all over our house on Easter morning.
For my blog party entry, I made a painters tray.  I made one for the Christmas holiday and today I am adding an Easter version.
These trays are really fun to make and are actually really easy to fill up all the little sections if you have a stamp collection like I do!  Lots and lots of WM stamps are used for this.
On the top row is a picture of my oldest son Matt, now 29 and absolutely horrified at the picture I chose to put in this tray.  I told him be glad I didn't show the white matching shoes!  It is one of my favorite pics as he has fruit punch all over his face and a very "Matt" grin.  I diecut the letters for EASTER on  my cricut and embossed them with a polka dot embossing folder.  The stamps are from a variety of Waltzingmouse sets and a few spellbinder diecuts.
The second row has a picture of my middle son, Andy, now 27.  He had the cutest red cheeks in this photo and is also not crazy about the picture I chose of him.

The last row has a picture of my daughter Carly, now 20.  Here's the funny story about this picture.  There is a 7 year gap between my 2nd and 3rd children.  When I was looking for pictures for this project, I found tons of pictures of Matt and Andy with cute little Easter baskets.  I had lots to choose from, but when I started  looking for Carly's picture, not a single one with an Easter basket, and I looked everywhere.   Unfit mother.  I know I got her Easter baskets, but I guess I took the pics but never printed them because if you notice, Carly is carrying a beautiful plastic sack to collect her eggs.  You can bet she noticed that one immediately when she saw the picture.
Here some details about the stamp sets I used to make this Easter painters tray, all from Waltzingmouse Stamps.
Li'l Buddies
Bountiful Basket Additions
Pic-nic Patterns
Bitty Banners
The picket fence is from Papertrey Ink as is the butterfly die.
The felt roses are from My Favorite Things

Now that you have seen my "Spring" project, make sure you check out the other entries to the February Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Party!

WOW! Absolutely fantastic :) And I can sympathize with Carly - I'm the 3rd child, it doesn't matter how many years in between, the 3rd child has less photos taken of them, it just happens! lol. I still pick on my mom about it too...in a funny way. I completely love this - what a GREAT piece to have
