Today I am here with February's installment of our 12 Kits of Christmas club. The 12 members of this club take turns hosting a monthly holiday card challenge using kits of identical ingredients. This month I was the hostess and had been thinking and planning the ingredients I wanted to include since last December. For once, I had enough foresight to buy the stamps and papers while they were actually still available and not discontinued. Here is a picture of our kit's ingredients:
The idea for this kit came about when I saw an adorable polar bear stamp and die from Memory Box. As soon as I saw it, I pictured that little guy inside of a snow globe. The kit included a snow globe shaped card base which was cut with my cricut and is an svg file by Lauren Meader's My Time Made Easy. It's called Let It Snow Globe. The papers in the kit are also by Memory Box. All of the details are located at the end of this post. Here's my first card:
This little card actually folds down into the globe base and with the clear acrylic front, looks very much like a real snow globe. I used glass beads on the inside and they really swirl around like real snow. Here's a little closeup of the beads:
My second card features a snow globe on a card:
I used several of the patterned papers from the kit and challenged myself to use the most difficult part of the kit for me, the synthetic snowflakes. I bought them at Christmastime and never opened them until I started packaging up the kits. What a mess! Since I put them in the kit to mess up everyone's craft space, I knew I better use them. I ran my snow bank diecuts through my Xyron machine and had to really smoosh the flakes down to keep them in place. I used a woodgrain stamp and versamark on the globe base and some lace and white pom-poms to make it a little more "Christmasy", kind of a Mrs. Santa Claus kind of feel to it. I had lots of fun putting this kit together and hope all the rest of my friends in the group enjoyed using the ingredients as much as I did. Here is an ingredient list:
Snow Globe: Let It Snow Globe, My Time Made Easy
Paper: Yuletide Collection, Memory Box
Polar Bear Stamp and Die: Wesley Bear by Memory Box
Banner Die: Spellbinder Ribbon Banner Trio
Embossing Folder by Tim Holtz
Sentiments: Compliments of the Season, Waltzingmouse Stamps

Ok Cathy, you are brilliant! I love that you added the beads and acetate to make a real life shaker snow globe! I love it especially with the little tree in the background!! These kits are just so much FUN! Thank you so much for sending the goodies this month.....I loved the snow globe idea!
Cathy, both cards are gorgeous!! I love the snow on the first one and how you cut the tree out of the text paper, and the neat bow at the top. The second I love that ruffled ribbon, the twine around the base of the snowglobe and how you used the pom poms! This kit was truly awesome, I so loved working with it, and I especially loves that snowglobe shaped card :) Thank you so much!

Gorgeous, Cathy! Thank you for putting together such an amazing kit for us! I love that you diecut the tree from the text paper on the first one, and that ruffle on the second one is perfect!
Ohh Cathy! How pretty! I love the shaker card with the glass beads - I can almost hear the swoosh of them in that globe. I think that tree inside the scene is brilliant - really makes it your own. The second card is a stunner too with that pretty ruffled lace and that pretty button as the "cherry on top". You really put together a great kit - you could sell this one and make a ton! It was a real treat - THANK YOU!!
Cathy, thank you so much for this wonderful kit! I had a ball playing with all the goodies and still have more to use. Your shaped card is brilliant, and I will definitely be CASEing your idea to use a die cut tree from patterned paper inside it. And I was too chicken to use the synthetic snow, but it adds an amazing bit of texture to your card. Thanks again for the kit and the wonderful ideas!
These are FABULOUS, Cathy! I love your snow globe! Such wonderful details--the glass beads, the patterned tree & that sweet bow with the pom pom--all are so pretty! The second card is just gorgeous with the lace trim and more pom poms. How clever to emboss the base! This has been so much fun--thanks again for a wonderful kit!!
Cathy...oh my these are both just so sweet, and those snow globes, just so beautiful. The trim on the second card is so wintery with the crochet trim and the red ribbon, just beautiful. Great cards from a fabulous kit!
Sorry I thought is was for tonight !
Cathy the snow globe card its is too cute ! Love the red trim you put around the globe .Good for you using the snow and having it look so good. I love the papers in the kit and the way you used yours. That tree is so pretty why didn't I think of this! The snowballs on the lace is a great touch too! Thanks for a wonderful fun kit.
Ooooohhh, Cathy! I love what you did with your snow globes! The first one I love that tree and the pp you cut it with, and the fact that the card is like a real snow globe! I also love the second and the embossing and trim! I love that little polar bear and am really enjoying seeing what all the girls did with their kit!
Hot diggity dog! This is too cute. I have been staring at that fun snowglobe card and am still trying to figure out exactly how you made it. It really looks snowglobe-ish. So cool! But that's you all over, my crafty friend, always creating and continually inspiring. Hugs.
Yet another Liebster awaits you my friend...
LOVE your snow globe Cathy! That Polar Bear is precious! I Love Polar Bears as much as I do snow peeps! Always have to visit them when at the San Diego Zoo :)
That snowglobe just makes me die!
So genius...
and love those little pearl "snow"!!
Both of these are just so fabulous Cathy...
you sent a great, creative kit and I had so much fun playing with it!
And then to see all the fabulous cards made with the same ingredients...
I just love doing this! :)
Your snow globe cards are just so much fun!!
Look what you made with your kit. They are both so darling. I love that your first card is actually shaped like a snow globe. Now, I see how that bit works, and I'm so glad I still have it. And, those beads are the perfect element for the shaker. Love your second card, as well. Your lace with pom poms is the best trim. Thanks for making such a wonderful kit. You know how much fun I had with it.
Those polar bears are just DAR-LING, Cathy, and oh how I love the colors you chose for this month! So perfect for your icy scenes. Whoever gets that sweet shaker tag on their gift will just MARVEL at it! I just told Jeanne on her blog that I love hopping to each blog, such an inspiration to see how you all interpret the kit so creatively :) HUGS!
PS...that texty tree is GETTING me :)!!
You guys and these darn kits. You are making me want SO many things!! That polar bear is so cute. I really must have him. Memory Box has some of the best images imo. Love this snow globe card with the ruffles and pom poms. Too cute!!
