Today I have made a card for WM Sketch Challenge #103, a very challenging sketch by Edna Morrisedie. Here's the sketch:
Nordic Winter and Very Vintage Labels #18. I also used that ribbon, brown twine and a woodgrain impression plate. Nordic Winter is such a fun stamp set to use to create a cozy pattern and I was so happy that was one of the stamp sets I chose to bring with me. I am getting quite a collection of Christmas cards all ready to address and send out...what am I going to do with myself when Christmastime actually arrives?
First, to answer your question as to what you will do with yourself until Christmas time...my family celebrates Christmas in July, which is about a month away...just an idea.
Now on to your card, brings back memories of trips to the snow with my family when I was little, so warm and cozy, need a cup of hot cocoa to go with it. So beautiful, the blue and brown and those reindeer are just so adorable. Glad to know I am not the only one to bring stamping supplies on vacation.
Wow, I can't believe you can make such beautiful cards on vacation. You even embossed, I'm impressed! That just reinforces that we all have way too much and could do with less. :) This is beautiful and can't believe how perfect the ribbon goes with Nordic Winter, and that you brought it with you! Love the blue with the brown.
Beautiful Christmas card, Cathy! Love the colors and the fabulous background! Incredible that you can do all these cards on vacation!! Have a great vacation!

Such a perfect card. Makes me think of getting rustic and cozy during the winter. Love that ribbon--it does work perfectly with that stamp set. See, you really don't need that much to get creative, do you?
Great use of the sketch, love the little reindeers on the ribbon treatment, fabby!! Thanks so much for playing along with the Mischief Makers!
Fabulous card, Cathy--and to think you took all this stuff with you on vacation! Great colors and I love how you did the ribbon--tying those little bows was a fantastic idea! Hope you're having fun and enjoying some restful time away from home!
Cathy I think you are managing beautifully. I think your environment is influencing you. Everything is warm and cozy like your cabin in the woods! Your card is beautiful - I love the ribbon and the reindeer and the little peek of blue trim!
What a fun take on the challenge, Cathy! I love the way you alternated those cute reindeer on the ribbons and the snowflakes on the bottom! Super job!
