12 Kits of Christmas-April Edition

It's time for our April edition of the 12 Kits of Christmas club and this month has been fantastic!  Marybeth of  Marybeth's Time for Paper is our hostess this month and she went all out and sent us a fabulous package of stamped images, diecuts and patterned papers to work with.
Here is the kit she sent us:

My cards were so easy to put together with all the elements just sitting there at my fingertips.  First up, a card that relies on the big beautiful sentiment as the focal point:
I just cut the touching sentiment out in an oval shape, embossed it with a linen and canvas impression plate and framed it with a Cheery Lynn Japanese oval diecut.  This frame is huge and is so intricate, there isn't much else that is needed to make a card that just pops out at you.  I did add one of the beautiful gold stars that Marybeth included in our kit.  My poor photography actually paid off for me as the star is reflecting a really pretty glow, just like I imagine a real star would if we could see one up close.
My second card focuses on one of the great diecuts that Marybeth included in our set.
The diecut is by Memory Box and is called Country Landscape.  It tells a story all on its own, and I just added a sentiment banner and some of the glittery trim that Marybeth sent us.  Can you tell I loved that plaid pattern paper and those gold stars?
Last up is my favorite and, big surprise...I used my Madison Grand Window die.  I have used this die on at least one card almost every single week since I got it.
I love the beautiful and elegant paper Marybeth sent us and that cute image of those little angels walking in the snow.  I did a little coloring with copics and if you could see the card in person, the little furry caps are covered with white flock.  I used the Memory Box holly vine as an embellishment on the window along with one of the sentiments Marybeth sent us.  I cut up a few of the holly leaves and added them to the sentiment and a few rhinestones colored with copics for the berries.

This was a great month and I am especially proud of myself for also finishing the inside of all three of these cards, even the stamped sentiment.  I am going to be so ready for Christmas next year!  Thank you Marybeth for a great kit this month.

Wow, just so beautiful and fun. I love the lacy die you used for the first card and with that star, just so stunning! But your little angels are so sweet too and almost just like one of the cards I made. Just too cute.

Oh, you did such a great job this month. I love what you did with the Country Landscape die cut--that is my favorite, and those two angels behind the window are just darling. I look forward every month now to see how you will use the window.

Oh Cathy you did such a beautiful job on all of your cards. I'm glad they came together so easily for you. I love the way you colored the little girls with the detailed shading, they look great outside the window. The first one is beautiful with that oval die-cut! Great cards!

I just love that you used flocking on the little girls' furry coats!! That was the perfect addition :) But I think that the first card is my favorite, such a stunning die behind the sentiment, that was really the perfect choice to make it stand out!

I love the clean and simple sentiment - the little winter scene you created, and gosh - that window die (I think I'm going to have to break down and get that one!!!) the little angel girls are so sweet in the window! ARRGHHH!! I Give UP!! I love them all!

Amazing creations this month, Cathy! Love how you used that sentiment in the lacy frame and added the single star--just stunning! Fabulous little winter scene too! But my favorite is the angels through the window! I so NEED that die! I adore how you used softer coloring and added the flocking! And that patterned paper looks wonderful!

These are all so elegant, Cathy! I LOVE the gorgeous frame on your first card and the simple star embellishment. The second one is just darling--the glittered trim along the bottom makes me think of sparkling snow. And I'm wishing I'd thought to put those little angels in a window! It looks so cute with the holly trim!

Cathy....these are amazing cards using Mary Beth's kit. Love how you showcased that long sentiment with the oval diecut......so pretty!!! You're right....it needs nothing more. (I'm going to add one of the stars to my card now too!). My favorite though is the window card.....seriously amazing!!!!

Wow, that oval diecut is a real stunner!! And that lovely sentiment fits perfectly inside of it!

I said it once, but I'll say it again, I don't know how you ladies come up with such a fantastic array of cards from the same supplies! I'm in awe!
