Pages 6,7 & 8 Baby Boy/Girl Scrapbook

I can't believe I haven't posted anything in a whole month. That doesn't mean I quit using my stamps and scrapbook equipment. Actually, I had the month off as our school was off-track (year-round school) and during this time I concentrated solely on getting at least 1/2 of my baby book project completed. I didn't quite get to half, but I did get a lot accomplished. Pages 6 & 7 are a two page spread titled We Are Family with the hopes that it eventually will hold pictures of the baby with lots of the family members. I used some digital paper (girl background) and made the background for the boy layout with PTI polka dot basics. That sure was a lot of polka dots to stamp and color, although I love how it turned out. The boy book is actually my favorite because of the warm brown and blue colors. I cut out the title on my cricut after welding the words together.

Page 8 is a single page spread titled Cute as a Button. I used solid card stock for these pages and scored the perimeter with my scor-bug. This was my first time using it and I think it added a little extra something to the very plain solid paper. I used my outline alphabet stamp for the title, again my first time using this stamp set. I colored in one letter of each word with stickles for some sparkle and texture. I also fit in the Cute as a Button sentiment from Baby Button Bits.

So, 8 pages down, 11 to go before the end of June. I only made one card this whole month and it was a total case of Debbie Olson's Dragonfly card. I hope to soon be back making cards again once I finish all my baby books.

Baby Girl/Boy Mommy & Me Scrapbook Page

I am super proud of these pages because I started with a plain sheet of white paper and using my PTI things, turned it into a cute Mommy & Me page for my First Year Baby Book Project. This is Page 4 of this baby book series. To take a peak at the first three pages, scroll down on the blog to see how this book got started. I had never used my new Beautiful Blooms II stamp and die set and have been anxious to give it a try. I stamped the largest daisy randomly all over the white paper in either sweet blush or spring rain. I then stamped the smallest daisy outline all over the rest of the page. Using aqua mist or chai ink I stamped a solid flower center. Using copic markers, I made little dots in the middle of the small daisies. I can't believe how fun it was to build this patterned paper from plain white. Next I cut a 3" strip of paper and used PTI's large scallop to punch a border along the bottom. I die cut 3 large daisies from the strip and put a complimentary color of aqua mist or tan underneath. Three mini buttons dotted each flower. I love the new Fillable Frame #1 and punched, stamped it and popped it up with dimensional tape. The sentiment title is from Cute as A Button by Technique Tues. I made a small journaling box with PTI Journaling Lines and added little parenthesis marks from another set I had. I matted three picture spots for 1 3x5 and 2 2x3 pictures. I stamped a large daisy and popped it up in the upper left corner of the 3 x 5 frame and topped it with a rhinestone. All in all I used at least 95% PTI products for these pages which just goes to show the versatility of PTI and the great things they make. These are so great for scrapbooking as well as making cards.

Baby Boy/Girl Welcome Home

These are pages 2 & 3 of my First Year Baby Book project. I didn't use too many PTI products this time as the main focus was the Heidi Grace Baby papers. I used a striped background for each page and made strips with the cute paper with little birds and their baby bundles. I alternated with aqua mist and a tan solids to coordinate the two page spread. I made a journaling block with PTI's Journaling Lines stamps. I couldn't believe it, but I had a Heidi Grace stamp set that had the same little baby bird that was on the paper. I stamped a small one in the corner of the journaling page and colored it with copics. I used Spellbinder pinked circles and some of PTI's beautiful buttons as embellishments. The titles were made with chipboard letters die cut from sizzix dies covered with matching papers. Hello Sweet Baby Boy/Girl

I have undertaken a huge, huge project. I am going to make (6) First Year baby books. Three girl and three boy versions. They will each have 20 pages and will be set up so the new mother only needs to insert the pictures on the pages and fill out the journaling tags as they want. I made one girl book last year and decided if I ever did it again, I would make several at one time in both girl and boy versions for future great-nieces, nephews and eventually grandchildren. What you see today is the first page of the books. This is an example of my latest "how-to" and is what is considered hybrid scrapbooking. I actually saw this layout in an English scrapbooking magazine called Scrapbook Magazine. It is a layout by Ann Freeman and as soon as I saw it I knew it had to be Page 1 of my book. I downloaded a Digital Baby kit called Baby Girl and Baby Boy by Lindsay Jane. It included lots of 12 x 12 paper and some embellishments that all coordinate well with PTI Aqua Mist, Hibiscus Burst and Spring Rain and some tan Bazzill papers I already have. I also bought some Heidi Grace Baby Girl and Boy papers to use for some of the other pages later on. What I loved about this layout was the script paper behind the photo. I didn't have anything like that so I googled "baby poems" and chose one and retyped it in Word and colored a pink and blue version. The Blue and Pink backgrounds are the digital paper. The Hello Sweet Baby in Aqua Mist and Brown are brushes by Ali Edwards. I am so proud of myself for finding out how to use them and am excited you can change the color to match your layouts. So here's what is what:

Background solid papers are digital papers with sentiment printed on it.

PTI stamp Background Basic Hearts stamped around edges.

Pink background paper is distressed and stitched. The baby poem is printed and distressed and also stitched around the edges. The tag is stamped with the hearts and dotted with white gel pen. The "doo-dads" are stamped with punches and embellished with clear stamps and PTI buttons in aqua mist, sweet blush, spring rain and dark chocolate. The Fleur de lis border is a 12" Spellbinder border die dotted with PTI fresh snow hearts. A mat for a 4 x 6 picture slides under the tag and doo-dads. Some PTI buttons finish it off. I absolutely love it and can't wait to share some of the other pages with you soon. Wish me luck on my big project.

Celebrate Your Day Scrapbook Page

I have worked on nothing but this wedding album lately, trying to finish it by the end of March. This page is the 2nd page of a two page layout. I used the same PTI papers and my previous post for continuity, but this time used a sentiment from Signature Greetings, a little symbol from Take Note and a fillable frame die cut as the title of the page. I think Celebrate Your Day really sums up the entrance of Matt and Katie to their reception. The DJ played "Let's Get The Party Started" and they both had such fun when they were introduced as Mr. and Mrs. Weber.

PTI Scrapbook Page

Hi There:

No cards this week, just another example of how I am trying to use my PTI products for scrapbooking in addition to making cards. For this page I started with a cream colored background and layered it with some plum pudding cardstock stamped with a collection of Background Basic Retro stamps. I added the photo collage and topped it with some ripe avocado, and Egg Hunt patterned paper. I added a plum pudding button and some strips of egg hunt paper punched with a Martha Stewart punch to two of the pictures. I cut the letters with my cursive cricut cartridge and finished it off with a few rhinestones. I got to use quite a bit of my PTI things on this project and love how it turned out. I get so much inspiration from the PTI forum and all the blogs from PTI followers and really hope that there are others out there who will try to incorporate PTI into their scrapbook layouts. Color Challenge

Nichole Heady of PTI has challenged us to make a project using our favorite color palatte. I chose these colors: Sweet Blush, Kraft, Vintage Cream and Dark Chocolate. I love those colors. I wanted to use one of my new PTI stamp sets so I chose Asian Fusian and one of the really pretty vase and flower stamps. I had some ribbon with a pattern very similar to the flower image in the Asian Fusian stamp set. I added two pieces of the ribbon as stripes against the sweet blush card base. I colored the flowers with a kraft colored copic marker and also added some pink and white touches. I finished it up with three single flowers stamped in the top left corner. It is funny how something so simple really balances out a card. This card was very quick and easy to assemble. Hope you like it.
