12 Kits of Occasions- October with Kara

Here we are...nearly to the end of 2013 and it's time for our October edition of the 12 Kits of Occasions.  This month...extra fun for me as I made all of my cards while on vacation.  Kara of Kandrdesigns is our hostess this month and also is providing a really great prize to a random commenter.  Not only Be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom to see every card and enter the GIVEAWAY Kara take the best photos of our kits (should read the only photos of our kits), but she created a kit that had stamped images, die cuts, embellishments and even some vellum which kept me very busy one very cold day in Montana.  Here's a peek at the kit that Kara sent us:

There will be a ton of cards to look at today, so I will get right to mine:
How have I lived without PTI's Leaf Prints before?  I am so glad I just got that set as I LOVED the stamped panel that Kara sent us along with the beautiful die cut sentiment.  I added a few Lil Inker embellishments to, the stitched scallop border and the little leaf.

I thought this little tree was cute enough all by itself without coloring...the little banner is from Verve.

I used several of the Fall patterned papers Kara included in our kits for this one...also the cute Autumn Blessings vase and even some of the glittery ribbon.  Kara also included the brown ribbon and button.

This card means a lot to me as it looks nearly identical to the little cabin we have in Montana and where I made all this month's cards, green roof and all.  I am always thankful for the time my husband and I get to spend here.  Here's a picture of the cabin:

Doesn't it look similar to the stamped image?

Last up is actually my favorite...I also had never gotten to use PTI's Autumn Hills set and it was fun coloring and sparkling this one for a cute bookmark.  I added a little bit of burlap behind the main panel and added some glue to the ends so it wouldn't fray too badly as I yank it in and out of my latest book.

Ready for more Autumn inspiration?  Here a link to the other talented ladies who belong to our 12 Kits of Occasions Group.  For the details on our ingredients this month, make sure to check out the 12 Kits of Occasions Blog page for all the details.

Thank you Kara for a fabulous kit this month!

Cathy I knew your projects would be fabulous! Love them all. Your first card with the panel that Kara made for us, all the stitched mats. The way you used the patterned paper strips with that gorgeous bow. Yes your cabin does look like the Autumn Hills stamp, but I bet your cabin is more gorgeous!! The tag is fantastic, love the addition of the burlap! Great effort!

Kara I have to say that the kit you created and sent to us was so gorgeous. I didn`t want to use it, I just wanted to look at it--LOL. I wanted to try using the vellum negative as a stencil, and I will definitely try it now that I have seen your gorgeous card! Love how you stamped over the die cut word on your second card. The pretty papers on the third. Now you table ensemble is so gorgeous! The invitation, the placecards, the napkin ring and that fabulous burlap bag. Thank you so much for the amazing kit, feeling so inspired!! xoxo

Wow--stamping on vacation works out great for you. I love how you used that word die cut and the stamped leaf panel--so cute to add those tiny lil inkers leaves. Your card with the tree is definitely going on my CASE board. It looks great on that die cut square. Your third card is sort of like one of mine--except yours is way better in every way. I love that little glitter stripe, and how you mixed and matched the patterns. But, mostly, I like how you colored--next SAF you are giving me leaf coloring lessons. I do think that your next card looks just like your Montana Cabin--which looks like such a wonderful place to hang out and relax. I think your bookmark is my favorite--Again, fabulously colored.

Wow, Cathy--LOVE what you've done with Kara's kit! These are all so amazing! So many fabulous designs with wonderful use of papers and colors. Adore the mix of papers on the card with the vase of leaves. And what a great bow. Beautiful coloring on your house too. It really does look like your Montana cabin. You are so lucky to have such a wonderful place to vacation!

Wow...you totally hit a home run, more like a grand slam with this kit! Each and everyone of your cards/project are breath takingly beautiful. From your sweet tag with your amazing coloring skills to your adorable cabin...just love seeing a photo of where you go to be creative. And you are so smart to use the strips to make a background, very clever. Love them all Cathy!

Hooray for even more ideas to CASE! :) I love the vertical design on your first card--I never thought to try that with my word die cuts. The striped patterned paper looks so cute cut into a banner on your second card, and you were smart to leave the pretty image uncolored. Your coloring of the vase and leaves on the third card is beautiful, and I'm smitten with your gorgeous bow! Love how you colored the little house like your cabin--it looks like an amazing place for a getaway. And finally that bookmark--I could always use more of those and that might be the perfect use of the Autumn Hills image I have leftover. Yours is so cute!
